The history of cartoons. Cartoons have come a long way in the way they are being animated. Early cartoon animators drew the cartoons with pencil and paper. Then the images were traced onto plastic sheets called cells/ The cartoon cells were then painted and the whole thing was dubbed with music and voices to make a cartoon.
Today we see that most of the cartoons on cartoon network are drawn with a mixture of computers and hand animated pencil and paper drawings. The computer is now the pencil and paper of cartoon animators today. We also see that a lot of computer animation is mixed in with traditional 2d animation. I am not a fan of this because most times it is done incorrectly and takes away from the overall cartoon.
The Duck dodgers cartoon does the best job of mixing computer animated stuff into the cartoon. But we will talk about that a bit later. The last thing I would like to point out about cartoon history is the pace of the storyline of the cartoon. Older cartoons are slower paced and often repeat the same joke or gag in the film at least three times. Cartoon audiences today want a quicker plot with no repeats at all.
